Questions

Before you step in.

What is Mythos?

Mythos is a mythology learning app. It turns the world's myths and folklore into structured courses with short lessons, so you can learn the stories in an order that makes sense.

Which mythologies can I learn?

There are twelve courses: Greek Mythology, Greek Mythology: Advanced, Norse, Egyptian, Roman, Aztec, Maya, Celtic, Mesopotamian and Slavic mythology, plus Japanese Folklore and Chinese Folklore.

Do I need to know anything first?

No. Every course starts from the beginning. If you already know the famous stories, Greek Mythology: Advanced goes into the minor gods and lesser-known myths.

How long is a lesson?

A few minutes. Each lesson covers one complete story or idea, and the app remembers where you stopped so you can pick up right there.

Can I earn a certificate?

Yes. When you complete a course you receive a certificate celebrating what you learned.

Can I start for free?

Yes, you can start learning for free. Download Mythos from the App Store or Google Play and open your first lesson.

Is the Japanese and Chinese material about religion?

No. Those two courses are about folklore: yokai and urban legends in Japan, and Journey to the West, dragon lore and folk tales in China.
